At Waybook, we want to help you bring your documentation fully in line with the systems your team is familiar with using. That's why we're pleased to offer the ability to host Waybook on your own domain, e.g. waybook.your-company.com.

We do this using something commonly called a “vanity domain” or CNAME domain.

CNAME support is enabled for all Waybook plans with 30 or more members, as well as all Waybook Pro teams, and you should see a link to contact us appear on the Details page of your settings if your account is eligible.

To host your Waybook on your own domain via CNAME, follow the steps below and then contact Waybook support to complete the process.

In order to set up a CNAME for your Waybook, you will need to speak to whoever manages your organization’s domain DNS records. This is normally your IT provider, but smaller companies may manage this themselves.

Forward the information below to whoever is responsible for managing your websites and feel free to reach out to the support team with any questions:

  1. Create a CNAME record on “{your-chosen-waybook-subdomain}.your-company-domain.com” pointing to “cname.waybook.com”.

  2. Navigate to Settings and then find Custom Domain. Then enter your customer domain.

  3. A message will pop up to confirm that your custom domain is currently active. Please bear in mind that it might take 24-48 hours for it to be completely configured.
