As your team’s knowledge base grows, keeping content accurate and assigning responsibility becomes essential. Document Owners provide a clear point of contact for each document, ensuring:

  • Accountability: You always know who’s responsible for maintaining and updating content.

  • Accuracy: Designated owners help prevent outdated or incorrect information.

  • Efficiency: Team members know who to contact with questions or feedback.

Assigning Document Owners helps your team work smarter, stay organized, and maintain high-quality content across your Waybook.

  2. Click Bulk Actions and select Assign Document Owners.

  3. Tick the checkboxes next to the documents you want to change ownership.

  4. Assign one or more team members to the selected documents.

  5. Your changes will apply instantly, ensuring every document has a responsible owner.

Where Can I See Document Owners?

Once assigned, document owners are clearly visible to your team:

  • Top Right Corner: When viewing a document, the owner's initials and avatar are displayed.

  • More Information Panel: Open the panel to see full details of the document owner.

  • Document Manager View: Easily view and manage ownership alongside other document statuses.

How Owners & Document Management Work Together

Combining Document Owners with the Document Manager view gives you complete control over your content:

  • Assign owners as you create new content.

  • Bulk assign owners to existing documents.

  • Monitor ownership and content status at a glance.

Together, they ensure your knowledge base stays accurate, organized, and easy to manage.

Assigning Document Owners is a small step that delivers big results—ensuring accountability, improving accuracy, and helping your team collaborate with ease.
