As an admin or manager, knowing what your team members see helps you guide them through training and ensure nothing gets missed. While you can’t log in as a reader or preview their exact dashboard, Waybook gives you all the tools you need to confidently manage their experience.

What Readers See on Their Dashboard

Waybook is designed to provide a streamlined, focused experience for readers - showing only the content they need, when they need it.

Here’s what’s included:

“Start Here” Widget

This smart widget helps readers prioritize:

  • Learning Paths that require completion

  • Documents with upcoming deadlines

  • Other incomplete Documents that require completion

Readers always know what to focus on next, reducing overwhelm and supporting steady progress.

💡 Deadlines are dynamic when set using Learning Paths or Relative Due Dates, and vary based on when each member was granted access.

Only the Content They Need

Readers only see content they’ve been explicitly given access to via:

  • Group membership

  • Individual Subject or Document permissions

Content outside of their permissions is completely hidden, keeping their dashboard clean and distraction-free.

Progress Tracking

Readers can view their own:

  • Completion status for each Document and Subject

  • Overall progress across all required content

  • Remaining items that need their attention

They can’t view team-wide progress or edit any content.

Bookmarked Documents

Readers can bookmark documents for quick access. These appear in a dedicated section on their dashboard - perfect for referencing important materials.

Recently Viewed Documents

Waybook helps readers pick up where they left off by showing their most recently viewed content - great for uninterrupted learning.

Search

Readers can use the search bar to find:

  • Keywords, steps, and titles within assigned content

  • Results update in real-time for fast, intuitive lookups

Search is context-aware, so results are limited to content the reader has permission to view.

Waybook Ask (AI Assistant)

Waybook Ask empowers your team with quick answers - without needing to ask a manager.

  • Readers can ask questions in natural language

  • Responses are generated from your documented knowledge

  • This helps reinforce learning and reduce repetitive questions

How to Check What Readers See

While you can’t log in as a reader, here’s how to review and manage their experience:

  • Progress Matrix - Go to Reports → Progress Matrix to:

    • See which documents a user has access to

    • Check their completion status

    • View what’s reference-only vs. requires completion

  • Exit Edit Mode - Toggle out of edit mode to preview documents as a read-only member would see them. This helps you review layout and step formatting.
