Your internal documentation holds immense value - whether it’s SOPs, training materials, or company playbooks. Copy Protection adds an extra layer of control, helping you protect that content from being easily copied or misused.

What is Copy Protection?

Copy Protection prevents text from being highlighted and copied in Reader mode. It’s a helpful way to maintain control over sensitive or proprietary information, ensuring your team can access the knowledge they need - without making it easy to lift and share externally.

While it deters casual copying, Copy Protection does not prevent screenshots or advanced duplication methods.

➡️ Available on the Pro planUpgrade to enable this feature.

When to Use Copy Protection

  • Safeguard proprietary processes, playbooks, or sensitive internal knowledge

  • Maintain ownership of your brand’s formatting, language, and documentation structure

  • Add an extra layer of control to protect your team’s hard-earned insights

How It Works

Apply to All Documents (Admin Only)

Admins can enable Copy Protection across the entire Waybook account:

  1. Go to Settings → Options

  2. Toggle on Copy Protection

This will apply to all documents viewed in Reader mode. Editors can still copy content while working in Edit mode.

Apply to Individual Documents

You can also enable Copy Protection for specific documents:

  1. Open the document in Edit mode

  2. Click Settings in the top-right corner

  3. Toggle on Copy Protection for that document only

You can disable Copy Protection at any time using the same steps.

Protect your business-critical content and keep internal knowledge where it belongs—with your team.
