Download Shots by Waybook
Visit your browser's web store and search for "Waybook Shots" or download for Chrome here. Sign in with your Waybook account or create a free account to store your Shots.
How to use Waybook Shots
When you're ready to document a process:
Click the Waybook Shots icon in your browser's top-right corner
Choose what to capture: specific tab, window, or entire screen
A sidebar appears - click Start Recording
Execute the process you want to document (Waybook Shots captures everything automatically)
Click Finish Recording in the sidebar when done
Waybook Shots captures your screen activity and generates screenshots with captions as you work.
Editing Your Shot
After recording, you'll see your captured Shot where you can refine it before sharing. This is where you turn raw captures into polished, professional documentation:
Edit Screenshots:
Redact sensitive information to protect passwords, personal data, or confidential details
Add annotations and highlights to draw attention to important actions or buttons
Crop to focus on important areas and remove distracting elements
Adjust or rewrite captions to make instructions clearer for your team
Manage Content:
Add more screenshots from your video recording to fill any gaps you noticed
Reorder screenshots to improve flow and create a logical step-by-step progression
Remove unnecessary captures to keep your documentation focused and easy to follow

Sharing and Importing
Once your Shot is ready, getting it to the right people is effortless:
Share externally:
Make your Shot public for anyone with the link to view - perfect for sharing with contractors, clients, or partners
Copy the share link to send via email, Microsoft Teams, or any messaging tool
Copy an embed link to add visual processes directly into your website, help center, or internal tools
Import to Waybook:
Export as Markdown for flexible use across different platforms and tools
Import directly into your Waybook to keep all your knowledge in one organized place
When importing, you'll select which Waybook it belongs in, choose the Subject, and Waybook Shots automatically creates a new Document using your Shot's title - no manual setup required.
