How to use Shots:

When ready to begin recording your SOP follow these steps;

  1. In Chrome, navigate to the webpage or application that is used to document a process.

  2. Click on Shots by Waybook in the top-right corner of your browser. If you have not pinned it yet it will be under your extensions.

  3. A sidebar will appear, click the "Start Recording" button.

  4. Now, perform the process you want to document. Shots will capture everything on your screen or even focus on just the part that you would like to select. This is shown via the yellow-orange box.

  5. Once you've completed the process, click the "Stop Recording" button in the sidebar or click the Waybook Chrome Extension icon to bring back the sidebar to select it.

How to Edit Shots

After you stop recording, you'll be taken to the SOP that you have recorded, where you can review and edit your recording.

  1. On this page, you'll see a list of all the parts of your process that you have documented running down the page.

  2. Near the top of the page, set the title for this SOP you have created. Beneath that, you can add a description for the Shot if desired.

  3. To edit a step, select the header to change the image title. Under the image, you can add a caption to provide more details about this image or any other information needed.

  4. Feel free to move the order of images or add a word step found after the last Shot that is recorded.

  5. Once the Shot is finalized, scroll down to the bottom of the Shot and either export it as a Markdown, share the link with the team, or add it directly into your Waybook.

  6. To import into your Waybook, select the Waybook if prompted. Then select the Subject. Once chosen your Shot will be added to your Waybook with the title of your Shot being the name of the new Document within that Subject.

Creating SOPs with screenshots and editable captions in Waybook is a powerful way to document and share your processes effectively. By following these simple steps, you can streamline your workflows and ensure that your team has access to accurate and easy-to-follow procedures.
