Written by Elle

Turn phone numbers into clickable links and make it effortless for your team to connect - perfect for internal directories, support resources, or team contact sections. With click-to-call links, anyone can start a phone call instantly, right from within a Waybook document.

Why Use Click-to-Call Links?

Adding click-to-call links to your Waybook content helps your team:

  • Instantly connect with key people or departments

  • Eliminate time spent manually dialing numbers

  • Simplify communication across functions and locations

Whether you're building a company-wide contact list or designing a faster support workflow, click-to-call links improve speed, clarity, and accessibility.

How to Add a Click-to-Call Link in Waybook

Click-to-call links use the same link tool you'll find throughout Waybook. Here's how to add one:

  1. Highlight the text you'd like to link (e.g., a person's name or direct number).

  2. Click the link icon (🔗) in the formatting toolbar, or use CMD + K.

  3. In the URL field, type tel: followed by the number, including the country code.

  4. Click Insert to create the link.

That's it! When someone clicks the link, their device will prompt them to start the call.

💡 Waybook Tip

  • Use international formatting (e.g., +1 for US, +44 for UK) to ensure global compatibility

  • Avoid spaces or dashes in numbers

  • Use clear labels like "Call Support" or "Contact Finance" to make links instantly actionable

Perfect for Internal Communication Hubs

Click-to-call links work great for:

  • Internal phonebooks and department directories

  • Emergency contacts and rapid-response teams

  • Quick access to customer-facing teams like Sales, Support, or Ops
