How to Use Screenshot Protection in Waybook

Protect proprietary knowledge by preventing screenshots in the Waybook mobile apps. Available on the Pro plan.

Written by Elle

This feature is available to all Waybook Pro teams

Your SOPs, training materials and playbooks represent years of hard-won knowledge. Screenshot Protection helps you keep that knowledge with your team by preventing screenshots in the Waybook mobile apps, so people can read everything they need on the go without it being easy to lift and share.

What is Screenshot Protection?

Screenshot Protection stops team members from taking screenshots of your content while using the Waybook mobile apps. Once enabled, it applies to every screen in the app, for every member of your team.

How does it compare to Copy Protection?

The two work as a pair. Screenshot Protection covers the mobile apps, stopping screenshots. Copy Protection covers the browser, stopping team members from selecting and copying text in Reader mode.

Learn more about Copy Protection.

Screenshot Protection deters casual copying rather than preventing every possible route. Photos taken with another device, and some Android devices or apps, can bypass the block.

When to Use Screenshot Protection

  • Safeguard proprietary processes, playbooks or sensitive internal knowledge

  • Keep ownership of your formatting, language and documentation structure

  • Add an extra layer of control for teams who mostly read Waybook on their phones

How It Works

Admins can enable Screenshot Protection for the whole Waybook account:

  1. Go to Settings > Options

  2. Toggle on Screenshot Protection

That's it. The setting applies to all screens in the mobile app for all team members, and you can turn it off at any time using the same steps.

Not on Pro yet? Upgrade your plan to enable Screenshot Protection, or speak to your Account Manager about what Pro could do for your team.
