Learn more about the improvements and new features launched to Waybook this month

Written by Elle

October is all about content your team can trust. Keep your most important documents current without chasing dates, protect the knowledge you've worked hard to build, and make sure everyone on your team can read it comfortably.

Here's a look at what's new:

Document Verification Intervals

Document Verification keeps your most important content accurate by asking a named team member to sign it off. Now it's even easier to keep that review cycle on track.

When you turn on Date Reset in a document's settings, you can now set the next review as an interval, like three or six months, rather than picking a date from the calendar. Prefer a fixed date for something like an annual policy review? That option is still there.

Match the review rhythm to how often each process really changes, and your team can trust what they're reading. That counts most on the documents that carry compliance, safety or customer commitments.

🚀 Quick Win

  • Pick the one document your team can least afford to get wrong. Turn on Document Verification, assign a verifier, and set Date Reset to an interval that matches how often that process changes.

Screenshot Protection

Last month we said screenshot blocking was on its way, and it's here. Screenshot Protection stops team members from taking screenshots of your content in the Waybook mobile apps.

Admins can turn it on in Settings > Options, and it applies to every screen in the app for everyone on your team. It pairs with Copy Protection, which stops text from being selected and copied in Reader mode in the browser.

Your SOPs and playbooks hold years of hard-won knowledge. Your team can read everything they need on the go, while that knowledge stays with your business.

High Contrast Mode and Accessibility

Waybook now has a High Contrast mode. If your browser or device is already set to high contrast, Waybook follows it automatically. You can also switch it on yourself from your avatar menu.

It's part of a wider accessibility update across Waybook. Screen readers now work across your dashboard, document cards and sidebar. Keyboard focus is easier to see as you tab around, and checklists use standard checkboxes so assistive technology reads them correctly.

Following on from alt text last month, it all adds up to documentation that works for every person on your team, however they read it.

Sidebar Upgrades

Reorganizing your Waybook from the sidebar is easier this month. Click the ... menu next to a document and you'll find options to move it up or down, so there's no need to drag and drop.

You can also right-click any document in the sidebar to open it in a new tab, and the same works for internal links inside your documents. On mobile, everything in the sidebar is larger, so it's easier to tap the document you want.

Handy when you're restructuring a subject, or want to keep two processes open side by side.

Table Improvements

You can now set header rows and columns straight from the table controls. Tables you paste in have always kept their headers, and now any table you build in Waybook can have them too.

Tables have made their way into News articles as well, so your next announcement can lay out a shift schedule, a price change or a comparison clearly.

Clear headers make a table quicker to scan, and they help screen readers make sense of the data.

Flow Chart Breadcrumbs

When you click a button in a Flow Chart that takes you to a Waybook document, breadcrumbs now come with you.

You can see exactly where you came from and head straight back to the flow chart. It makes working through a decision tree or troubleshooting guide, one branch at a time, much smoother.
