April was a busy month for the Waybook team. From a major new mobile release to smarter document organization, there's a lot to explore. Here's everything that shipped this month.
Here's a look at this month's product update:
Read Time
Your team can now see how long a document will take to read - right where they need it. Estimated read times appear on document cards in learning paths and subjects, so team members can plan their time before they dive in.
Read time is also visible in report breakdowns and Document Manager, giving admins a clearer sense of the learning journey they're building. For teams with a lot of content, this small addition makes a real difference to how people engage with what's in their Waybook.
New Mobile App
The Waybook mobile app has been completely rebuilt - and it's now available for everyone. Version 2.0 brings full feature parity with the desktop experience, so your team can access everything in their Waybook from their phone, exactly as they'd expect.
The headline addition: push notifications. Your team will now receive notifications directly on their device, so they never miss an update, assignment, or action that needs their attention.
Version 2.0 is available on both iOS and Android. Encourage your team to update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play to get the full experience.
π‘ Waybook Tip
Push notifications are especially useful for field-based teams and remote workers. Make sure your team has notifications enabled on their device to stay connected to updates in real time.
Waybook MCP - Now in Early Access for Claude
What if your AI assistant already knew everything in your Waybook? With MCP (Model Context Protocol), it can. Waybook's MCP integration connects your knowledge base directly to AI tools, so you can ask questions and get answers grounded in your team's actual documented processes - not generic AI responses.
This month, MCP has been updated with search and fetch endpoints, making it significantly more capable when working with your Waybook content. Ask your AI tool to pull specific documents, search your knowledge base, or summarize a process - it knows where to look.
MCP is currently in early access and available to Pro plan teams using Claude. Learn more about Waybook MCP, or reach out to your Account Manager to get set up.
Comment on Sections
Collaboration just got more precise. You can now leave comments directly on individual sections and nodes within a document - pinning your feedback to exactly the right place, rather than the document as a whole.
This makes it easier for teams to review, refine, and approve content together without leaving Waybook. Learn more about commenting in Waybook.
More Formatting Options
Two editor improvements this month to help you create cleaner, more engaging documents.
Expanded color palette - The Waybook editor now offers a much wider range of colors, including a selection of pastel options. Whether you're color-coding content for different teams or just want more creative flexibility, the new palette gives you more to work with.
Links as buttons - You can now display links as styled buttons within your documents. Great for calls to action, key resources, or anywhere you want a link to stand out on the page rather than sitting inline in text.
Custom Fields
This feature is available to all Waybook Pro teams
Custom fields are now live for all Waybook Pro teams - and they're a powerful addition for anyone managing a large or complex knowledge base.
Custom fields let you add your own structured data to documents: track external reference IDs, tag content by region or department, flag compliance status, and more. Once set up, you can use custom fields as columns and filters in Document Manager to find exactly what you need, fast.
Each team can create up to five custom fields, with support for Text, Dropdown, and Yes/No field types. Fields are set up in Team Settings > Custom Fields and can be applied across all documents in your Waybook. Read the full guide to Custom Fields.
